Matthew's 6th Birthday

As if Christmas wasn't enough, Matthew turned 6 today. We had family and some great friends over to help him celebrate, he had a great time opening presents and playing little host. I can't believe he is 6 and 1/2 way done with Kindergarten.

Christmas with Grandma C and Vanpa

Aaron's parents arrived on the 27th and they couldn't get in the house fast enough for the boys, they wanted to open presents!

Happy 6th Birthday Matthew!

Here are Matthew and I on the day he was born 6 years ago today at 11:01am.

Happy 6th Birthday to one of my little men! I love you so much!

Birthday

I decided to go ahead and change my blog background since we will have a birthday in the house on Tuesday. Matthew will be turning 6!

More Christmas-Alex

Alex is opening the presents the boys bought here at church. Our church has a Secret Santa shop every year where the kids can go shopping with some help from "elves". The gifts range from $1-$5 and they get help wrapping them as well. Ryan got her a nativity set and Matthew got her a pillow.

Here she is very excited to realize Pacaw (my dad) got her a laptop

Roommates

The boys decided they wanted to share a room so we spent yesterday moving Ryan's stuff into Matthew's room. Here they are going to bed last night. Ryan is so excited to be sharing a room with his big brother!

Getting ready for Santa

Matthew's letter to Santa

Ryan's letter to Santa

Everything ready for Snata: Sugar cookie complete with Santa's initial, a cup of chocolate milk (boys insisted Santa wanted chocolate milk) and food for the reindeer.

Snow!

We got snow today! It's been snowing since about noon and hasn't really let up (it's now 8:15pm). Very rare occurance in Dallas especialy at Christmas time. There was a story on teh news just the other day about how Dallas has a less than 5% chance of having a White Christmas.

Visit with Santa

We took the boys to see Santa this morning, it went great and we only waited 10 minutes! The only problem is that Matthew asked Santa for some Spy Glasses and this is the first I've heard of this so I am on the hunt for kids spy glasses 3 days before Christmas!

Snowman Cake

We went to a Christmas party on Saturday at some friends house, there were about 10-12 families there. I made this Snowman cake for the occasion, found the idea on the Family Fun magazine website.

KIndergarten Holiday Party

Matthew and his class had their Holiday Party today. They decorated cookies, had a story read to them and got to take home a goodie bag! We are now all home until January 4th. Christmas in 1 week and Matthew's birthday in 11 days!

Ryan's Christmas Program

Ryan had a Christmas program at school on Tuesday, all the teachers kept telling me he is so cuet during practice and he sings his little heart out. Well I didn't get to see any of that on Tuesday, he just stood there! He also refused to wear a Christmas shirt , he's wearing his Georgia jersey (he would wear this everyday if I let him)

Basketball

Matthew plays on a basketball team at the YMCA with some of his friends from school. It's so cute and they have so much fun! He is #10.

Teacher Gifts

I made these for the boys teachers and I love how they turned out. I found the idea on Kelly's Korner which is another blog I read. They are so easy to make: you buy clear glass ornaments stuff them with shredded paper (like you would use for a gift basket). Tie a couple of ribbons to the top and then put a sticker with their initial on the front to monogram. Took me 30 minutes to make 8.
